In 2004 the Early Learning Centre business was acquired by our consortium led by bookstore founder Tim Waterstone. We chose Bank of Scotland Corporate to provide the funding because we liked their imaginative approach and enthusiasm. We were also delighted by their generosity in accepting part of their fee in Early Learning Centre toys worth thousands of pounds. Three children's hospitals in the region were invited to choose the toys and play equipment best suited to their needs and the bank team then donated the requested items. It's a great
example of a bank working with the community of which it's a part.
